First Ripple, Egret Over Glass

Observation
Aerial panorama of an egret in mid-flight low over a still pond. Wings fully extended and downstroked. Directly below the bird a fresh circular ripple radiates on the otherwise mirror-smooth water. Surrounding vegetation frames the pond in warm browns and greens.
Interpretation
The ripple is the picture. It is proof of a moment the viewer just missed and cements the bird as physically present rather than pasted.
Technical
Aerial, EXIF not read. Wing feathers hold structure at the primaries and are not motion-smeared. Ripple ring is legible without haloing. Panoramic stitch shows no seam breaks in the pond surface, which is where seams normally show first.
Composition
Bird placed just left of center with the ripple offset slightly right; that offset gives the picture direction. Vegetation forms a soft oval vignette that pulls the eye inward.
Creativity
Aerial wildlife with a diagnostic environmental detail. Not a common combination.
Impact
Strong and grows on repeat viewing once the ripple is spotted.
Strengths
- Ripple ring is preserved cleanly and tells the story
- Bird posture is peak downstroke, not mid-transition
- Panorama stitch is invisible where it matters
Improvements
- The pond takes almost the full frame; a small trim of the top and bottom would let the ripple sit more prominently on the lower third.
- Slight local dodge on the leading wing edge would separate it from the darker vegetation reflection just below.
